Post 5: A Photo and its Story

Imagen
Hi, it’s time for memories! I don’t know who took this photo, but it’s from The First National Meeting of Youth and Children’s Orchestras in Chile, which means a lot to me because I made many friends. It’s interesting because it’s one of the few photos of the complete orchestra. In 2011 the Foundation of Youth and Children´s Orchestras of Chile (FOJI) organized a national meeting with all the FOJI orchestras from the regions.  As a violinist of the Youth Orchestra of the Los Ríos Region, I was lucky enough to participate, and we were more than 1200 musicians playing at the Movistar Arena! Although at the beginning it was chaos, because it’s not easy to organize such a big orchestra, it was possible to achieve it and it was really very entertaining. I like this photo because it’s one of the nice memories I have of the musical environment and because I participated for many years in the FOJI orchestras.

Post 4: Chickpeas, so delicius!

Imagen
Hi everyone!! Today I’m going to talk about a food I like.   I don’t really have a favourite food, but I like legumes very much especially chickpeas.   I soak them night before to activate them. Sometimes I grind them raw to make falafel which a croquette usually made of chickpeas, onion, parsley, coriander, garlic and spices. When I boil them, I can make stew, curry, hummus, chips, even pastries such as cakes, brownies and biscuits. If I don’t make them stew, the cooking water is never wasted, that’s called aquafaba and can even be used to make meringue or mayonnaise. Chickpeas can even be made into flour and can be used to replace eggs in preparations such as vegetable pancakes. I don’t eat meat, so I really like the fact that chickpeas are so versatile and can be used in all kinds of preparations. I think they are good for my health because they are a good source of protein in my diet.

My favorite piece of technology

Hi everyone, today I will talk you about my favorite piece of technology, the mobile phone. I have had many mobile phones because I have broken them, had them stolen or lost them. I have had my currently mobile phone for 10 months and it is the one that has  lasted the  longest. I generally use it for chat with my friends, family and boyfriend. I also use it to listen to music and podcasts,  read books in "BP digital" , take pictures, buy online, check my mail and use the dictionary. I sometimes make video calls with my friends or boyfriend. I use my mobile phone every day, but I forget to charge it. Sometimes, I lose it at home and usually don't know where I put it. What I like the most of my mobile phone is that it is rugged I can carry it everywhere.  If I didn't have it, it wouldn't affect me personally, but it is necessary to be connected to the world.

My career

Imagen
Hi! My second post is about my career. Currently, I'm studiyng antropology-archaeology, but when I were a child I had other interests. I liked mathematics and I wanted to study engineering. I also wanted to become a teacher because I like teaching. But I was 13 years old, I discovered the violin. My interests changed and when I finished my high school I began to study violin at conservatory, but I really wanted was to be a luthier. I managed to take lessons, but I was left without a teacher. Then I decided to study archaeology. I like so much this career beacause I love the history and the objects.  I'm very happy with my decision.  In the future, I would like to work in a museum or travel discovering new archaeological sites. I do not rule out possibility of continuing to learn lutherie. I believe I'm good at it.
